The American West Heritage Center is dedicated to educating visitors about the early inhabitants and explorers of Cache Valley. They have many events throughout the year. This zoo has a reputation for being just an aviary. However, over the past few years the zoo has added other animals in addition to birds. Most of the animals are small, but there are a few large ones such as reindeer.

Logan Canyon
Various spots along Highway 89 between Logan and Garden City

Hours: Dawn to dusk
Website: www.explorelogan.com/brooks/do/pages
Logan Canyon is a treasure trove of opportunities to explore the outdoors. I didn’t appreciate Logan Canyon when I lived nearby, but after we moved I often found myself thinking, “if only there was somewhere close we could have a fire tonight.” Or “I wish there was somewhere close we could go camping this weekend.” Or “I want to go hiking I wish we lived near some good trails.” All those things could easily be found in Logan Canyon. Highlights include the First, Second, and Third Dam picnic areas. The Windcaves, and the Guinavah-Malibu Campground.
