Saguaro National Park - West (Tucson Mountain District)


Saguaro National Park is a great place to see it's name sake plant.

Location: West side of Tucson, Arizona (The East side of the park is located about 30 miles away on the other side of Tucson.)

Cost: $10.00 for a seven day pass (The West side doesn't have a gate so you can drive through it for free)

Operating Hours: Sunrise to Sunset for vehicles.  You can walk or bike into the park 24 hours a day. Visitor Center hours are 9:00 to 5:00.

Recommendation: A good place to see a lot of cacti.  Definitely worth driving through.

Houston Port Authority Boat Tour


This free boat ride takes you on an hour long tour of the Houston Port Authority.   The tour will take you past large shipping vessels, and give you an understanding of how important shipping is when it comes to imports and exports.  

Location: Port of Houston Authority at 7300 Clinton Drive Houston, Texas

Cost: Free, but reservations are required

Operating Hours: Tours depart at 10:00 am, 2:30 pm, and 6:00 pm (depends on the day - see official website for availability)
